Final Changes for 2008 Emergency Response Guidelines
There hasn’t been a new edition of the Emergency Response Guidebook – published by J.J. Keller – since 2004. A new 2008 edition is expected out sometime in mid-May, says a new report.

According to an article on the Government Technology website, the 2008 Emergency Response Guidebook is a preparedness guide designed to help transporters, police, fire personnel and other emergency responders quickly identify the hazards of materials involved in an incident.

The article says the new edition replaces 2004’s, and includes the latest emergency response guidelines from the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). The article adds that PHMSA has just issued a formal summary of changes from the 2004 edition.
