Wireless Technology Can Help When Firms Lose Power After a surprise October snowstorm in Western New York, one expert says wireless technology and battery power could have helped companies stay up and running even through the power outages. But how long can wireless technology really work without power? In an article in the Buffalo News, Pam Kowalik says David B. Bassanello with Transwave spoke about wireless technology and business continuity planning last week during the Western New York Technology Forum. Bassanello told the audience wireless Internet technology and battery power could have helped banks, stores and other businesses continue to operate when their old-fashioned electric power failed. Kowalik says the event attracted about 400 people from a range of professions who are interested in technology, homeland security and bioinformatics.
