The National Academies of
Emergency Dispatch is nearing completion of one of the
most important and exciting improvements to 911 emergency
medical dispatching in this century. Of the dozens of
improvements contained in the imminent release of the
new Medical Priority Dispatch System version 11.2, one
of the most important is the new CPR Compressions First
Pre-Arrival Instruction (PAI) Protocols based on the
first comprehensive development of American Heart Association's
CPR and Choking recommendations into the 911 dispatch
community.
