Industrial Accident Prevention Association
The Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA) is a not-for-profit, member-driven organization operating in the Province of Ontario since 1917. Representing more than 50,000 member firms and more than 1.5 million workers, IAPA is Canada’s largest health and safety organization and has taken a leading role in the prevention of workplace injury and illness, working for improvement in the health and safety performance of their member firms. Environmental Information Association
The Environmental Information Association, with its beginnings as the National Asbestos Council, has spent 25 years at the forefront in providing the environmental industry with the information needed to remain knowledgeable, responsible, and competitive in the environmental health and safety industry. The mission of the Association’s multi-disciplinary membership is to collect, generate and disseminate information concerning environmental health hazards to occupants of buildings, industrial sites and other facility operations. www.eia-usa.org

International Rescue and Emergency Care Association (IRECA)
IRECA is the oldest international organization of its kind; representing men and women in the United States and Canada. IRECA was founded in 1948 at its first annual convention in Atlantic City, NJ. IRECA is entirely financed by membership dues, grants, endowments, and revenues generated by association-sponsored events. Its mission is to provide its members and the EMS/Rescue community with high quality educational programming and competitions, networking with EMS and Rescue professionals, and representation on regulatory and standards committees to ensure EMS and Rescuer safety and accountability. www.ireca.org
National Association of Emergency Dispatch
The National Association of Emergency Dispatch is a non-profit standard-setting organization promoting safe and effective emergency dispatch services worldwide. Comprised of three allied Academies for medical, fire and police dispatching, it supports first-responder related research, unified protocol application, legislation for emergency call center regulation, and strengths the emergency dispatch community through education, certification, and accreditation. www.emergencydispatch.org
Disaster Research Center
The Disaster Research Center, the first social science research center in the world devoted to the study of disasters, was established at Ohio State University in 1963 and moved to the University of Delaware in 1985. The Center conducts field and survey research on group, organizational and community preparation for, response to, and recovery from natural and technological disasters and other community-wide crises. Its researchers have carried out systematic studies on a broad range of disaster types, including hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous chemical incidents, and plane crashes. It has also done research on civil disturbances and riots, including the 1992 Los Angeles unrest. Past DRC studies have focused on such topics as emergency medical and mental health service delivery in disasters, community responses to acute chemical hazards, and mass evacuation and sheltering. www.udel.edu/DRC/
The CERT Coordination Center
The CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC), arguably the most widely known group within the CERT Program. The CERT Program is part of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a federally funded research and development center at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Following the Morris worm incident, which brought 10 percent of internet systems to a halt in November 1988, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) charged the SEI with setting up a center to coordinate communication among experts during security emergencies and to help prevent future incidents. One of its primary objectives is to analyze the state of Internet security and convey that information to the Internet community. www.cert.org

National Association for Search and Rescue, Inc.
The National Association for Search and Rescue, Inc., (NASAR) is a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to advancing professional, literary, and scientific knowledge in fields related to search and rescue. NASAR is comprised of thousands of paid and non-paid professionals interested in all aspects of search and rescue - the humanitarian cause of saving lives - throughout the United States and around the world.
